The River Project
The River Project is an ongoing umbrella project composed of several branches. Since 2022, I have been developing it intermittently, with its formation shaped in part by chance encounters and contingencies.
The riverbank has, almost unconsciously, become the place where I feel the strongest sense of belonging. This is rooted both in my upbringing near water and in a more personal belief—according to traditional Chinese cosmology, my elemental balance lacks water, and I was told from a young age that I should seek out places where water is present.
Over time, my repeated visits to different riverbanks have led me to notice the peculiar objects occasionally scattered along the shore. I began collecting these remnants of human activity, along with stones, rubble, and natural materials revealed at low tide, using them as a point of departure for my practice.
